I truly believe that we are spirit having a human experience! This is partly due to having my first remembered spiritual experience at 3 years old. Even at that very young age I was aware that there was something more than what we experience here on the earth plane. By the tender age of 5 years old I had begun my spiritual search. I attended many various churches as a child…on my own and without my parents….seeking a God of my own understanding.

My grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth Crabtree Strickland McFann, was very influential in my belief that this was indeed possible. My grandmother was born in 1873 into a Mormon family….yet this was not to be her spiritual path. As she had sought and found her own relationship with God…she encouraged me to do so also. She spoke to me of God as ever present and of the reality of Spirit communication. She shared with me stories of her own personal visitation by angels and the messages from God which guided her life. She taught me about the continuity of life and the continued communication with those who have passed from their earthly bodies…..and into spirit. She helped me to understand that my life was eternally connected and surrounded by the world of Spirit! This was to be the guiding light for my spiritual journey in this lifetime. The light which shone even during those times when it seemed as though I had strayed afar from my path….and the light that led me back. The light that gave me the courage to finally say….this is who I truly am.

I worked for 30 years in community agencies as a social worker and counselor during which time I was able to use my medium abilities, albeit in very subtle ways, in being of service to others in many varied capacities. I worked for the Salvation Army in Phoenix, AZ for 4 years as a crisis counselor in provision of services to the homeless. I spent an additional 4 years in Phoenix working for Big Brothers/Big Sisters at one of the outreach centers in the projects in South Phoenix. I worked in Florida with persons with developmental and physical disabilities, which led to my later working with runaway youth. In addition, among other employment experiences, I worked as a substance abuse counselor in a treatment facility in Southern Ohio for 10 years.

I received my B.A. degree in Social Work from Ohio University, M.S. degree in Social Agency Counseling from the University of Dayton and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University. I worked for 13 years and retired as a tenured Professor from the University of Toledo. During this time, I had over 20 publications in state, national and international scholarly journals. In addition, I gave over 50 presentations as a state, national and international speaker. I received numerous state, regional and national awards as a researcher, professional teacher, leader, and political activist among others. In these years of service to others and continued education however, I longed to be able to speak of the reality of spirit and the impact that it has upon our lives. I was continually challenged as to how my spiritual beliefs reconciled with the rest of my life. I felt as though I were leading a double life! That is….until I discovered Lily Dale, New York…..and my spiritual home!

In Lily Dale I did indeed find a place that my spirit could call home. It is here that I have found that reconciliation of my spiritual life and my service to others. It is in my provision of readings as a Registered Medium here in Lily Dale that I can finally be the person that I truly am! I truly believe that there is a healing that takes place during readings that perhaps cannot take place in any other way….for it is that time that we acknowledge the very real connection between the world of spirit and our earthly experience…and the door is ever so gently opened for the Light of Spirit to shine through. I have shared with you some of my journey in the hopes of encouraging you as you walk your own path. Peace and blessings to all and may our paths join as One as we walk our journeys in Oneness to the top of the Mountain!
